I must say, I love this keyboard. I am a medical student and I type a lot of my notes into my macbook from online lectures, text-books, review books, ect. Doing so on my lap is fine, but, for practical reasons I need to type on a table to keep all my books, ect in front of me. The macbook keyboard is not meant to be used on an elevated surface like a table for extended periods to time. After a while I noticed that my wrists were getting some carpal-tunnel like symptoms as well as tendonitis. I promptly bought this keyboard from Microsoft and have been very happy with the purchase and my wrists and hands have also thanked me.
Pros: The keyboard is beautiful. It is black, with some reflective black trim on the top. The keys are angled, to put less stress on the wrists and it is a full keyboard. It has the number pad, the directional buttons, function keys, page navigating buttons and some short-cut buttons. Not all the buttons work natively when I connect it to the macbook (for example the home and end keys don't always work in web browsers), the calculator short-cut key doesn't work. However, the most important keys for my purposes work. The function keys enable a mac user to use expose and panels, and the volume short-cut keys work as well. The keys have a good response, and I can definitely type much faster (and with less fatigue and typos) with the microsoft keyboard than my built-in macbook keyboard. Considering it is a full keyboard, it does feel pleasantly light and portable. I can't fit it in my satchel bag, but I do carry it around to the library / conference room to work, without any hassel. Another pro, the price is right.
Cons: It doesn't bother me, but the keys do make more noise than my laptop when typing. I feel badly sometimes when I start vigorously making notes and I know other people in the library hear the clackity-clackity of my key strokes. I don't think its worse than your typical desktop keyboard, but if there were one thing I could change about it, I would make it quieter. I've only been using the keyboard for a month or two, so I can't vouch for its durability, but at the price, I could easily buy another when it breaks.
