The advertised battery time for this battery is 10 hours. It lasted 4.5 hours at best though. Those 4.5 hours were measured with no application running on the laptop, wireless disabled and no user activity. The laptop was just switched on and sitting there. I contacted HP support to make sure that the problem was not with my laptop. Since they didn't had any other explanation they agreed that I must have gotten a defective item. I returned the battery to Amazon and got my money back without any problems whatsoever. I'll order another one and see how that one will work out...
P.S.: I have an HP EliteBook 8530p with XP Pro installed.
