I'm a writer and forever making notes. I carry around a little notebook and jot down "stuff" that occurs to me. Then, when I can, I transcribe everything to my Word notes.
The Livescribe pen has changed that. I no longer have to transcribe anything, or haul out my laptop or my Dana, which I use when I'm away from my desktop.
I've purchased the add-on program called MyScript, which converts my handwritten notes to text, and this function has saved me oodles of time. (I wish they had packaged MyScript with the Livescribe software, but for $29.95, it's still worth it.)
The other day I had to appear on a panel discussion, and used Livescribe to take notes and record those parts of the discussion I wanted to save.
Color me impressed.
I know how much time it's saved me, in addition to just being fun to use. I can imagine it would be a lifesaver to students or people attending meetings.
Technical - My PC is 64-bit Windows 7; no problems with software or integration. Very simple to set up and use.
