I have had this remote for a week as of 04/24/10.
This is excellent remote. It can control up to four devices. Programming the devices into it went smoothly & was straightforward. The remote is very comfortable to hold. I do wish the buttons were slightly larger.
The remote code list is pretty extensive, but if you have a 2008 or later device that uses newer frequencies, you may be out of luck and the remote will have to learn all the functions of every button on the source remote. This was my case for my ATT Uverse remote. I had to program all 30 or so buttons manually into the remote. Not a big deal since you would have to do it only once. But doing so eats up almost all of the remote's memory available for this function.
The learning function was very good. The remote picked the functions from my source remotes 99% of the time. It had a hard time learning the "OK" function from my ATT Uverse remote. This was later resolved when the remote learned the "ENTER" function (separate button from "OK"). The remote intuitively linked the two functions. The "CLEAR" button on this remote is not a learning button so if the remote codes native to this remote do not include this function, you would be out of luck.
This remote does not have a "LAST CHANNEL" or "EXIT" button. It does have a "BACK" button that you use program to perform this function.
The PC Remote function was excellent. All buttons work out of the box in my Vista/Windows 7 systems w/o loading any drivers. The Nintendo Wii-like mouse function worked excellently and this is the MAIN reason why you should seriously consider this remote. This concept is the perfect solution for Home Theater PC users.
I would have like to see a few more buttons on the remote, more memory for the learning functions, & the ability to connect this remote to the PC to download remote schemes from the internet (like a Logitech Harmony Remote). For the $59.99 price with free S&H, this was an excellent buy. I would watch Gyration for newer versions of this remote in the future. A definite must-buy for the budget consumer.
